Britany definitely speaks my language - these are the exact qualities I look for when decorating my home.  I love the uniqueness of each piece - knowing no two are alike.  The more aged looking and a nick or knot here or there only makes them better - giving them a character all their own.

I was so excited to receive a special wooden sign from Madi Kay Designs collection.  (shhhh..it's similar to the one below...but, that's a secret - you'll see the real deal in a later post)

 

I have to tell you that... it's even more beautiful in person.  It truly is a piece of art and I can tell that Britany puts a lot of love and care into her work.  It's 'perfect' in a not so perfect way..if you know what I mean?  I think the more imperfect they look the more perfect they are.....{I just said perfect way too many times in the same sentence..ha!}  Each piece of wood is different, which makes each sign special in it's own unique way.

Britany and her husband work hand in hand in the process of creating each sign.

After Britany designs the signs' shape and decides on the wording and colors, her husband then cuts and sands them and then applies a base coat.

All signs are sanded, purposely nicked up, giving an old world, very distressed feel, adding a little character to every sign.

All in all - each piece is 100% handmade with love from their family to yours.
